When the waste management for the whole city of Batam is privatized, Injani is tasked with the challenge of increasing the revenue of the garbage collection fees. Injani proposes and develops a system that include a java-based blackberry application that integrates with the device GPS and allow the fee collectors to record all the homes (potential revenue points) over the whole city of Batam using mobile phones. This allows the customer to have a visual map of the whole city of Batam.

Once the visual map has been created, it is possible for the customer to verify that the whole city of Batam is covered in terms of revenue collections. Once it is accomplished, the fee collectors can again use the mobile phone to update the fee collection monthly in real-time and the management can use Google Earth as a head office visual console to monitor the progress of all collectors.

The system has been successfully deployed and the customer is able to experienced a significant increase in revenue due to the enormous efficiencies achieved.
