EBusiness Project Development: Automation of Payroll Processing via a Cloud Based Solution

The Challenge

A payroll outsourcing company was encountering scalability issues when it starts to handle too many clients. Human errors occurred very frequently as they used Microsoft Excel as the engine for calculating taxes for their clients. As the number of clients increased, so did the human resources that they needed to hire to keep up with all the work. Any miscalculations could be very fatal as it involved filing of taxes.

Our Solution

We decided to develop a web-based solution to handle the processing of the payrolls, inspired in part by ADP Inc., a billion dollar company based in America that processes payrolls for a lot of companies in America via a web-based interface. We leveraged a very stable and feature-rich PHP framework to develop the payroll application, focusing on minimal code principles, and successfully launched the application.
